Cutting systems traditionally used in cardboard industry
are the Autoplaten® presses, that are supplied by
Bobst
or some similar vendor, which are able to deliver high quality results and low
costs when huge quantities of paper or cardboard are involved.
This kind of machine is expensive and lacks flexibility,
that's why several companies need different cutting systems which are more
versatile and able to cut economically small and medium batches of materials
while keeping high quality in the final results.
Many Italian companies are in this category and instead of
the machines traditionally used in the cardboard industry they prefer moving
beam presses with automatic feeders. These machines allow to cut and
crease high material quantities with a limited investment and using rolls
instead of sheets.
For this industry we advise to use:
Oscillating-knife machines:
are the most common choice to deal with small and medium production runs and
several different shapes. They are a flexible and convenient solution able to
support most of the paper cutting needs. The cutting head can be equipped with
different tools, among them a creasing wheel.
Moving beam presses: they
are especially useful when cutting using big dies or multiple-shape dies, in
this case their throughput is unbeatable.
CNC presses: high
throughput is the name of these machines, automatic cutting delivers high speed
and reduced need of operator assistance, automatic nesting delivers material
savings and ability to precisely estimate costs and production times.
Traditional presses: the
most common choice when dealing with a few different shapes to be produced
regularly. For some materials they are the choice that minimizes the cutting
cost with a reasonable investment.
It is possible to use our automatic roll feeder with the
moving beam and cnc presses. This device is wheel-mounted to allow easy
relocation in the production premises, moreover material loading is very fast
thanks to its self centring device. This tool comes also in a special version
with automatic material unrolling which can be extremely useful for those
materials that must not bear any tension during the feeding and cutting process.
