Let's think about a great stylist, it is likely that the
first name that comes up in your mind is Italian or French.
Despite globalization and production dislocation Europe
and America, are still the most important area for style and fashion
development, in fact there you can find the headquarters of most of the
worldwide renowned garments brands.
These companies are competing in a more and more dynamic
market and the emerging oriental competitors become stronger and stronger every
day.
To defend leadership it is compulsory to leverage the
advantages of style and quality that western production still have. Of course
this must be done keeping production costs low and working with versatile
machines, feeling confident that the investment in technology will support the
evolution of styles, materials and production methods.
Even the smallest companies in the garments industry must
face the same problems of the biggest ones, therefore they are searching for
versatile and flexible tools, but of course they cannot face huge investments.
The cutting is one of the most important production steps
in garments production, both for shirts and outerware and for
intimate apparel. Atom has a wide range of solution for this industry, as
usual flexible, affordable and reliable. Among them we suggest some of our
product lines.
Oscillating knife cutting tables:
precision, versatility and low operating costs make these systems especially
suitable to cut a wide range of materials. They are the perfect solution to
quickly economically produce prototypes and samples. The dieless cutting
technology eliminates all the die-related costs and makes the production of
small-medium quantity much more convenient. The nesting can be either manual
(assisted by layout projection on the material), automatic or mixed. Some models
can cut a material while on a different area of the table the operator unloads
the previous parts and prepare the next layout. This allows a great time saving
and a better utilization of machine and operator time.
CNC Presses: can deliver
very high cut quantity and work with little or none operator assistance. The
optimized nesting algorithm grants high yields and keeps into account the need
to keep cutting time low, so parts and cutting order are arranged in order to
maximize cutting speed as well. Automatic nesting also helps in making precise
estimates about production times and costs.
Swing arm and movable trolley presses:
good productivity with limited investments, they are still the best system to
cut small production orders or items that are cut from pre-molded shapes..
All these machines can cut the materials commonly used in
the garments production, including microfibers, nylon, cotton, leather,
elasticised materials as well as special materials that are more and more widely
used, such as Kevlar® and Goretex®.
Waterjet machines actually can cut most of these
materials, but often the results are not optimal because of the material can get
wet; therefore for most materials used in garments production other cutting
technologies are suggested.
Atom can ship the cutting machines with an automatic
nesting software suite that can be used in several different ways:
-
interactive nesting on the cutting table;
-
off-line nesting, that is calculated before the
material is deployed on the cutting table;
-
Internet-based nesting: Atom is proud to propose
this solution to his customers. This innovative system allows the user to manage
and monitor the nesting and cutting process from any web-connected PC, using
just the browser it is possible to access to all the functions commonly offered
by traditional nesting suites. An additional benefit of this model is that the
customer is charged on pay-per-use basis so there are no initial investment in
software licenses and data is available everywhere there is an Internet
connection, of course protected by a reliable system of passwords and access
rights.
Automatic nesting allows savings of time and materials,
higher automation in cutting orders management and can be used even by
non-specialised operators. The nesting results are not operator-dependant any
more, therefore the workforce can be organized in a more flexible way.
We do not believe in the "one size fits all" philosophy as
far as nesting is concerned, so our algorithms are optimised accordingly with
the needs of different industries and material kinds.
