Atom has been cumulating experience in cutting rubber-based
materials for over 3 decades. Our know-how is incorporated in our cutting
systems that can actually cut any kind of rubber of latex and of foam based
materials, with or without adhesive films, with or without imbuing substances,
among them Nitto foam, polyurethanes, polyetilenes, neoprene.
Foams and rubbers are widely used in several industries, for
example we have customers using these materials that operate in the industry of
cars, furniture, footwear, gaskets, aeronautics, naval constructions and
packaging.
Most Atom machines can be conveniently used to cut foams and
rubbers, among them we suggest:
Oscillating knife cutting tables: they can be used to
cut rubber and foam up to 20 mm thick. They are especially suitable for
prototyping, cutting of sample parts and for small-medium production batches.
Being dieless they remove all die-related costs and problems and make
mixed-layouts much more convenient. Our automatic nesting system can optimise
layouts delivering very high yields and material savings.
Waterjet machines: They are especially suitable to cut
high thickness-materials, they work without dies, so they are very useful for
fast prototyping, cutting of sample parts but their cutting speed makes them a
good choice for big production batches too.
Moving beam presses: they are especially useful when
cutting using big dies or multiple - shape dies, in this case their throughput
is unbeatable. They can be equipped with automatic feeding systems suitable for
sheets and rolls.
CNC beam presses: their ideal scenario of usage
involves high cutting volumes. The high speed and reliability allows to achieve
high quantities of cut pieces in short times. The automatic nesting procedures
can optimise the layouts to be cut, allowing materials savings and precise cost
and cutting time estimates.
Swing arm and movable trolley presses: good
productivity with limited investments. They can be conveniently used for small
production batches.
It is possible to use our automatic roll feeder with the
moving beam and cnc presses. This device is wheel-mounted to allow easy
relocation in the production premises, moreover material loading is very fast
thanks to its self centring device. This tool comes also in a special version
with automatic material unrolling, extremely useful for those materials that
must not bear any tension during the feeding and cutting process.
