This category includes all the materials that do not contain
asbestos but have similar specifications of fire resistance, sound and thermal
insulation.
The industrial jargon groups in this category most of the
materials used for gaskets-making, therefore we are dealing with a wide variety
of materials with different specifications, from heat resistance to mechanical
and chemical resistances; their applications are countless.
Often these products are named after the most important
companies producing them, such as
Klinger,
Garlock and
Frenzelit.
The cutting of these materials presents several different
challenges owing to the heterogeneity of available materials, formats and
eligible applications.
Atom cutting systems are so versatile to handle all the
currently available non-asbestos materials, regardless of their kind and
thickness.
Oscillating-knife cutting tables: this kind of
machines is suggested for prototyping and small-medium production batches,
especially if they are composed by different shapes.
Some models can be equipped with an automatic material
feeder and all of them can be equipped with the same cutting heads.
The automatic nesting software allows automatic
optimization of layouts using optimized algorithms, supporting the "shape into
shape" function, especially useful when mixing big and smaller gaskets. It is
also possible to use scrap of previous cuts to cut smaller shapes, regardless of
their shape the nesting can handle them automatically.
Waterjet machines: they are dieless like the cutting
tables, so they can be used as well for prototyping. They can reach high cutting
speeds and can mount multiple cutting heads to multiply the throughput, this
makes the waterjets useful for very big production runs too.
Moving beam presses: they are especially useful when
cutting using big dies or multiple - shape dies, in this case their throughput
is unbeatable. They can be equipped with automatic feeding systems suitable for
sheets and rolls.
CNC beam presses: their ideal scenario of usage
involves high cutting volumes, the high speed and reliability allows to achieve
high quantities of cut pieces in short times. The automatic nesting procedures
can optimise the layouts to be cut, allowing materials savings and precise cost
and cutting time estimates.
Swing arm and movable trolley presses: good
productivity with limited investments. They can be conveniently used for small
production batches.
Moving beam and CNC presses can mount our roll-feeder, with
wheels for easy equipment of different machines and self-centring feature to
speed up the material change.
